In the evening, there was a surprise birthday celebration for Mother Banix, Tita Ate Bel, prepared by Kariz, Kayze Batching and Kathreen (even though she's currently in Japan).. Of course, the GYA peeps were the visitors and not to forget the Tamagochi Katren Banix who is always present.

Just last week, I was looking for Twinings in Unimart, but it isn't available. Out-of-stock maybe, so I settle for another brand/s. Yes, I went 'tea shopping'.. And when I came home this afternoon, I saw this gift:

The end of 2010 & the start of 2011 has been very busy that's why it's only now that I finished making my supposed to be year-end post.. ;P 2010 has been full of BLESSINGSSS!

I was chosen an 1 of the 7 finalists for Cebuana-Lhuillier's Search for Happiest Pinoy and invited at the final judging..

This was my mom's entry when she nominated me at Cebuana Lhuillier's Happiest Pinoy that made me part of the Top 7 Finalists..

I was a teenage mom when I had my eldest child, MARIA KATHRINA (Kcat) Lopez Yarza. Kcat was born on Friday the 13th  of May 1983. I was in labor pains for more than 10 hours when my doctor finally decided to go with the Ceasarian Secton. Kcat's heart beats was in zero respiration due to the cord coil and she suffered from meconium stain. She was revived and was in an incubator for 3 days. There was a guilt feeling and I really felt so sorry that my first child had to suffer all the pains.  This was the time that I realized that I have an obligation that I need to face. Despite, the trials and humiliations that I’ve gone through during my early years of my married life, I felt I must be strong for an innocent child who depends on me. She is truly a gift from God, to love and cherish.

of course i know that.. and God proved it once again.. though He don't really have to.. ;)

My mom nominated me on CLIS Search for Happiest Pinoy because she believes that I met the criteria which are:

The search aims to find the happiest Pinoy who has:

1. an optimistic outlook in life

2. a cheerful disposition

3. a proven ability to rise above life's challenges

4. a positive impact in the lives of others

Sabi ko, if i win the happiest pinoy, magpapa-inom ako ng gulaman.. at dapat lang.. I didn't get the grand prize, pero winner pa rin.. 90million filipinos nga daw.. 200 submitted their entries.. tapos nakasama ako sa top40.. tapos na-narrow down sa top 20.. then top 7 finalists.. at ako ang pinakabata among the finalists.. 26. The others were 90, 40, 30, 60 ata.. and mga professionals na & marami ng mga nagawa na to help our country.. humanitarian, etc. super ordinary citizen lang ako.. waaaaaah! abnormal lang.. basta yun na kahit simpleng mamamayan lang tayo, we can make a difference pa rin.. o diba? o bongga! haha. inuman na! ng gulaman.. hahahaha. ;P

I'm HAPPY!

Last night was the awards night for the 'Search for Happiest Pinoy'

I didn't get the grand prize.. Maybe Mr. Winston Maximo needs the money more than I do or any of the other finalists does.. It's ok, I can raise the funds for my upcoming spine surgery (to remove the tumors on my spinal cord) and be able to walk again.. God will provide. :) and according to my mom: "almost perfect 10 for kcat in 2010!" yey!

We just got home from Hotel Intercon and one of the question from the judges was:

and I thought this will be my only blog entry for January.. NOT!

I'm just so happy.. My mom's super happy about it.. We're happy.. Because I'll be at Hotel Intercon tomorrow. Haha. ;P I made it to the chosen top 8 contestants of 'Search for Happiest Pinoy' sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier and I'll be having my interview with the board of judges tomorrow.. Together with the other finalists.. Wish me luck!
